Wycliffe Bible Translators

Vono – 5 hundred speakers, Koenoem – 3 thousand speakers, Chenoua – 76 thousand, 300 speakers, Naba – 278 thousand speakers, Anaang – 1 million, 400 thousand speakers, Mina – 3 million, 800 thousand speakers, Fulfulde – 7 million, 610 thousand speakers, Chittagonian – 13 million speakers

These are just a few of the over two thousand languages spoken in the world today, represented by over 340 million native speakers, in which the Word of God is entirely unavailable.  Unlike you and me, these speakers do not have the opportunity to pick up the Bible each morning and read God’s Word to them, to feel the comfort of His Words during times of turmoil or distress, or experience the life-changing effects of reading Scripture in the language of their heart. Wycliffe Bible Translators* wants to see that change.  We have committed ourselves to the Vision of ensuring that by the year 2025, just 13 years from now, a translation is in progress for every language in need.

But we can’t do this alone.  For each translator in the field, there are dozens of laborers behind the scenes working to ensure that they receive the support necessary to get the job done.  I have recently accepted a call to serve in one of these roles.  As a writer/editor, I’ll be working on corporate publications, helping to keep supporters here in the States up to date on the progress and needs of our missionaries overseas.  But the fulfillment of even this call would be impossible without the involvement of Christian men and women like yourself.

There are four ways in which you can play a crucial role, partnering with us in bringing God’s Word to the World’s Last Languages.

The first is through prayer – Prayer that God will prepare the hearts of those who have yet to hear the message that He loved them enough to send His son for their Salvation.  Prayer for the efforts of our workers overseas, that God will provide them with focus and a readiness to pursue His will.  And Prayer for the support workers, like myself, who have committed themselves to filling the behind the scenes roles which make the translation of Scripture possible.

The second is through financial support.  Your one time gifts will help to get me across the country to my new assignment in Waxhaw, NC.  Your continuing monthly support will ensure that I am able to stay there, fulfilling my two year commitment.

The third way that you can play a part is through advocacy – Helping others both understand the need for and become involved with the task of Scripture translation.

The final way that you can partner with us is through going, yourself.  There are currently 3,000 open positions here in the U.S. and even more overseas, each requiring the same skills which have aided you in your professional career.

If you would like to discuss any of these opportunities with me, please feel free to contact me at  Regardless of the level of involvement to which God is calling you, please prayerfully commit yourself to respond in obedience.  Tomorrow will be too late for someone who needs God’s Word today!
