The Voice of the Martyrs

Did you know that Christians still face persecution just as they did during the time of the Romans?  Today, nearly 40 million believers in over 50 countries daily risk their property, lives, and relationships in order to maintain their faith.  The Voice of the Martyrs is committed to helping these brothers and sisters through prayer and practical assistance and this week for “Missions Monday”, we’re featuring some ways in which you, too, can play a part!

If you’re primarily a prayer warrior, check out http://www.prisoneralert.com/.  Here, you can find the profiles of believers around the world who are imprisoned for their faith.  By subscribing, you can keep up to date on each individual’s prayer requests as well as the progress of their cases.  Feel compelled to get involved?  The site also contains information on ways that you can advocate for individuals by writing to their government’s officials or encourage your brothers and sisters by mailing them a note while they’re behind bars.

Looking for more ways to be participate?  Click over to http://www.be-a-voice.net/qry/bv_home.taf and join the “Be a Voice Network” – a group of believers from around the world who are committed to sharing the stories of their persecuted brethren with their friends, Sunday School classes, Youth Groups, and more.

Prefer a short-term project?  Why not get involved with parachuting the Gospel into Columbia or packing supplies to send to believers in need?

And while you’re there, don’t forget to sign up for their newsletter!

There is plenty to explore, so take some time to navigate the site and look around.
